How we work
Drone Assembly Process in Our Workshop
At the Saste Company, we take pride in meticulously assembling high-quality drones to meet the specific needs of our clients. Whether you’re building a drone for personal use, professional filming, racing, or research, our assembly process is designed to ensure precision, performance, and safety at every step.
Step 1: Frame Selection & Inspection
We begin by selecting a durable, lightweight frame that fits the requirements of the drone’s intended purpose. Once the frame is chosen, we conduct a thorough inspection for any defects or imperfections, ensuring that it is structurally sound and free from flaws.
Step 2: Motor Installation
Next, we install the motors onto the frame. The motor type is carefully chosen based on the drone’s weight, desired thrust, and flight performance. We double-check the motor wiring and ensure all connections are secure to avoid any future malfunctions.
Step 3: ESC and Wiring Setup
After installing the motors, we connect the Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs) to the motors and wiring them to the flight controller. Proper wiring management is essential to maintain airflow, avoid damage to the components, and ensure the drone operates at maximum efficiency.
Step 4: Flight Controller & Sensor Integration
The flight controller, which acts as the brain of the drone, is carefully mounted and calibrated. We also install and integrate additional sensors such as GPS, barometers, or optical flow sensors depending on the drone’s application. Each sensor is tested to ensure accurate data collection and transmission.
Step 5: Propeller Attachment
The propellers are selected based on the motor’s specifications and the drone’s purpose. After ensuring they are balanced, they are attached securely to the motors. We conduct a pre-flight balance check to make sure the drone will operate smoothly.
Step 6: Power Supply & Battery Integration
The power distribution board (PDB) is connected, and the battery is mounted securely in place. We ensure the battery is of the correct voltage and capacity for the drone’s power requirements, checking for secure connections to avoid power interruptions.
Step 7: Firmware Installation & Initial Testing
Once the hardware is assembled, we install the appropriate firmware for the flight controller. This step is crucial for setting up the drone’s flight parameters and ensuring compatibility with all components. We conduct an initial test to verify that all systems are working properly, including motor response, flight controller settings, and sensor calibration.
Step 8: PID Tuning & Flight Tests
With everything in place, we perform PID tuning to optimize the drone’s flight performance. This step ensures that the drone responds smoothly and stays stable during flight. We then carry out a series of test flights in a controlled environment, adjusting the settings as needed to achieve perfect balance and responsiveness.
Step 9: Final Inspection & Quality Assurance
Before delivery, every drone undergoes a final inspection to ensure everything is functioning perfectly. This includes checking all components, wiring, and software settings. We ensure the drone meets the highest safety standards and quality expectations.
Step 10: Customer Orientation
If needed, we offer a brief orientation to our customers on how to operate and maintain their drone effectively. This includes flying basics, battery care, and troubleshooting tips.
